Sergio Vaccaro is an award-winning multidisciplinary filmmaker based in New York City. His most recent short film, Good Morning! This is Lana…, is beginning its festival run and was just awarded First Place at the James River Short Film Showcase. He also has five spec scripts in various stages of development.
Sergio was born in the quiet suburbs of Westchester, NY to immigrant parents who never stressed the importance of art or the magic of storytelling. So naturally, the two became his life’s endeavor. Sergio’s filmmaking career began at the age of seven with a camcorder *borrowed* from the family, making spoofs of the gangster films he wasn’t supposed to be watching.
He currently serves as a filmmaking mentor at ReelWorks and is an active member of the nationwide filmmaking collective, Filmshop.
