Sergio Vaccaro is an award-winning multidisciplinary filmmaker based in New York City. His most recent short film, Good Morning! This is Lana…, is beginning its festival run and was just awarded First Place at the James River Short Film Showcase. He currently has five spec scripts in various stages of development, one of which was selected as quarter-finalist for the ScreenCraft Screenwriters fellowship.

Sergio's career as a filmmaker began at age 7, with an off-limits camcorder, trying to remake the gangster films he wasn't supposed to be watching. A monotonous suburban upbringing and censored religious schooling led him to pursue the magic of story, in both craft and study, across inspiring cities like Boston, Prague, Los Angeles and finally New York, where he freelances as a writer and director.

He currently serves as a filmmaking mentor at ReelWorks and is an active member of the nationwide filmmaking collective, Filmshop.
